Since 1998, my approach to dog training has been shaped by seminars, books, and a whole lot of hands-on experience — and it's never stopped evolving.
Over time, I've drifted far from outdated methods that rely on corrections and force. But I've also taken things a step further. Rather than using the leash to steer and control, I use it more like an emergency brake — there if we need it, but rarely the point. The real goal is a dog who chooses the right behavior on their own.
When a dog makes that choice themselves — without being pushed, pulled, or prompted — something special happens. The behavior becomes more reliable, more joyful to repeat, and it deepens the bond between dog and owner in a way that force simply can't replicate.
We'll work with your dog in a way that never scares or intimidates them, using their own natural behaviors and curiosity to guide the learning. Training built on trust and choice isn't just kinder — it's more effective. And a lot more fun for everyone involved. 🐾

A little prep goes a long way! Before I arrive, please have the following ready:
🦴 Treats — your dog's absolute favorites (this is not the time to hold back!)
🦮 A 6-foot leash
📿 A buckle collar or harness — I don't use or promote prong or shock collars. If that's what you're currently using, no judgment — just have a buckle collar, head collar, or harness available for our session.
🧸 Toys and chews — toss them all in a pile if you can! It's a great opportunity to talk about fun new ways to put them to work.
When I arrive, greet me just like any other guest — your normal routine helps set the tone for a calm, relaxed session.
⚠️ Important: If your dog has any history of aggression or a bite history, please have them crated or on leash and under control before I come through the door. Safety first — always — for everyone in the room, including your pup.

Honestly? No — and you should be skeptical of any trainer who does.
Dogs are living, thinking, feeling individuals with minds of their own. Their progress depends on so many things — their history, their nature, and yes, the practice and consistency you put in at home. No trainer can control all of that, and anyone who promises otherwise isn't being straight with you.
What I can guarantee is that you'll get my very best — every session, every time. My full knowledge, my honest assessment, and a plan built around your dog and your life.
The results we get together will be a team effort. And that's what makes them last. 🐾

Good news for multi-dog households — I don't bill by the dog or by the paw! You're paying for my time, so whether you have one dog or a whole pack, the rate stays the same. Fair warning though... the more noses in the room, the more treats you'll want to have on hand! 🐾😄

Virtual sessions are available on request, though I'll be upfront — in-person is where the magic really happens! There's simply no substitute for being in the room with you and your dog.
That said, virtual sessions can work well for the right situations. I'll use my own dogs to demonstrate skills and then coach you through them in real time — so it's still very much a hands-on experience, just through a screen.
Virtual works best for: preparing for your new dog's arrival, foundational obedience skills, tricks, and some behavior questions.
For more complex issues — resource guarding, separation anxiety, or any aggressive tendencies — we'll want to meet in person where I can truly make a difference. 🐾
