Over the years my clients have asked me what I use, what I love, and what actually works. Skip the guesswork — these are the products I keep coming back to, tried, tested, and tail-approved. 🐾
If there's one thing I recommend to every single client without hesitation, it's this. The Fi collar is a GPS tracker and activity monitor built right into a sleek, durable collar — so you always know where your dog is, even when they've decided to write their own adventure.
Whether you have an escape artist, a dog in training, or you just want that extra layer of peace of mind, the Fi is a game changer. I don't leave home without it — and neither should your dog. 🐾

An overall note: when selecting non-ingestive chew items, choose a size that is large enough to not be considered a choking hazard for your dog. When your dog in enjoying an item that is ingestible, they should be monitored for safety.
Dog supplies and food
Finding the right food and supplies for your dog doesn't have to be overwhelming — here are my favorite local spots!
Food For Pets - Manchester & Amherst
My go-to recommendation for clients who want to learn more about dog food and make the best choice for their dog's specific needs. Pro tip: bring your dog to the Manchester location every Thursday for a free nail trim from Jack with any purchase over $5! 🐾
Bedford Fields - Bedford
Plenty of food options in a dog friendly environment — worth the visit!
Wholistic Pet - Bedford
A great local option for natural and holistic pet products, dog friendly!
Sierra, Marshalls, Home Goods - Bedford
Don't overlook these! Great spots for inexpensive toys and — bonus — they're dog friendly, making them perfect for a low-key outing with your pup!
Non-Ingestive Chew Items
These are chews your dog works on but doesn't consume. Always choose a size large enough that it can't be a choking hazard, and supervise your dog while they enjoy them!
Marrow bone
(Primal is my favorite — look for it in the freezer section of your pet food store!)
Ingestible Chew Items
These are chews your dog will actually consume — and that's perfectly fine! Just keep in mind that most come in many different sizes, flavors, and brands. I always recommend seeing items in person before buying when possible, and supporting your local pet store when you can. Links are provided below as a helpful starting point!
Benebones- (some dogs make these last for months!)
StuffedKong or Toppl - (a personal favorite for keeping dogs busy and mentally engaged!)
Equipment and tools I use in my sessions
These are the products I actually use and recommend — tried, tested, and tail-approved! 🐾
Olly Dog Treat Bags a fantastic company with a huge range of outdoor gear for dogs. These treat bags are truly unlike anything else — magnetic closures and built-in storage make them a game changer for training.
Long line An essential tool — always attach a long line to a harness, never a collar. I recommend a minimum of 20 feet.Great options in both paracord and nylon.
Body Harness I exclusively use and recommend front clip harnesses — they help reduce pulling far more effectively than back clip or collar options. My top three in order of preference:
SENSE-ation Harness — Simple to put on, clips easily under the ribcage
Balance Harness — Similar fit but also offers a back clip option.
Freedom Harness — No restricted shoulder movement, no rubbing. Trickier to put on at first but worth it!
Bitter Apple — Simple anti-chew deterrent for furniture and belongings.
Mimi Green — Beautiful Fi-compatible replacement collars in tons of styles. Highly recommend! 🐾
And a bonus — what’s in my trail mix!
When making my bin of trail mix, I always start with a base of my dog’s food. The mix is forever changing, and I may be leaving out some options I sometimes have, but I do lean towards making my bin as healthy and chewy as possible. Some dogs take crunching their treats very seriously and this time can eat into our training time. So I stick to soft, but when making your own mix, add some of the delicious crunchy treats in there too!
These are listed with the most popular first.
Dr Marty’s Nature’s Blend - Using actual nutrient dense dog food is a great substirute for treats, especially if your dog is small or you are trying to keep your dog’s calorie intake in check. These are soft, and very easy to break up.
Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers - I most often have the Duck Duck Goose flavor as it is a very soft and easy to tear into smaller pieces. The Savory Salmon is also a very soft and popular choice. The other flavors are very popular with dogs, however they tend to be a bit too crumbly to break up for training.
Real Meat Venison - When I get this home, the first thing I do is get out my butcher block and knife. These are also super soft and easy to break up, but I like to have these already small and ready to go.
Wellness Soft Wellbites - These are just as they say... soft and also easy to tear up into smaller pieces. Lots of flavors to choose from!
Ziwi’s Air dried Dog Treats - These are already small and ready to go
K9 Natural Freeze Dried Food Topper
